Population
A population is a complete set of all possible observations under investigation. If a population contains a finite number of units then it is a finite population. Correspondingly, if it contains an infinite number of units then it is an infinite population.
For example, if one is required to calculate the mean or average income of people in India who own a BMW, then the population will be all the people in India who own a BMW.
