I have a friend who does quantitative trading. But he doesn't want to teach. I want to learn! Anyone experienced in this area who can share some tips on how to learn? I can't find valuable content on the internet... just rubbish about quantitative trading Thankyou!
Hi Fábio,
Greetings!
Well, just to identify you with what a quantitative trader is, I would like to tell you that a quantitative trader is also known as the Quant. A Quant designs a complex framework for financial institutions in order to aid them to price and trade securities in the financial market.
Quants can be of two types:
- Front office quants - These are the ones who directly provide the trader with the price of the financial securities or the trading tools.
- Back office quants - These quants are there to validate the framework and create new strategies after conducting thorough research.
Now, coming to the learning part, since a quant needs to do the quantitative analysis to identify the trading opportunities, he or she needs to be knowledgeable in:
- Mathematics
- Statistical techniques
- Coding
- Why should I learn a Quantitative approach for a particular style of Trading?
- An Unconventional Guide to the Best Quant Blogs
- Hands-On Introduction To Quantitative Trading [WEBINAR]
