Problem with installing IB TWS

Hi, I'm having problem installing IB TWS on my Mac.



I'm following instructions on the link(Download TWS Standalone for MAC | Interactive Brokers LLC) provided in the course PDF. And I'm stuck on this procedure: 



"java -cp jts.jar:hsqldb.jar:jcommon-1.0.12.jar:jfreechart-1.0.9.jar:jhall.jar:other.jar:rss.jar -Xmx512M -XX:MaxPermSize=128M jclient.LoginFrame ."



The error occured in my terminal is running with java version "18.0.2.1" 2022-08-18:



"

Unrecognized VM option 'MaxPermSize=128M'

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.

Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

"



I searched online for solutions as since java 8 MaxPermSize=128M is not supported and still couldn't solve the problem. 



Would be very appreciated if anyone could help with installing the IB TWS. I also tried to install by the install .dmg tool provided by IB for mac and also failed…

For TWS installation problems you can reach out to the IB support team.  And if the issue still persists, you can install IB gateway as a workaround. You can learn more about IB Gateway from here.
