Hi can we do HFT(high frequency trading) using Cloud computing efficiently or do we need to setup our personal infrastructure for it?
No, cloud is not suitable for HFT at all.
For modern HFT, the latency on the higher side is almost always significantly sub-milliseconds and can be of microseconds orders (and some houses claim even lower). For a cloud architecture connecting over the internet, the latency (you can estimate it by sending a ping command) is order of magnitude higher. Since HFT is kind of winner-take-it-all market, anything slower than top few competitors will not work.
