Explanation for getting different time series for REXX and REXXQ

 

While analysing the data for finding redundant stocks , why i am seeing two different time series for REXX and REXXQ ?  I read somewhere that it was just the symbol change.

This is related to Data and Feature  Engineering lecture in Quantra, section 5. 

Q after a symbol indicates that the firm is in the process of bankruptcy. Yes, you are dealing with the same stock. If your universe contains both the stock tickers, it is redundant and you should keep only one.
