Systematic Risk or Market-wide Risk

This impacts the entire stock market. For instance, COVID19 pandemic, it impacts all the stocks in the market.

Unsystematic Risk or Specific Risk

This type of risk is called the “specific risk” as it is related to the individual stocks. For example, shutdown in a manufacturing plant or poor sales reported by the company.
