I have tried to apply for access to Twitter API with the following explanation :
"I am going to use Twitter API for the purpose of analyzing the sentiment of stocks to find out whether the price chages can be predicted in this way. My scientific work is around investigating the ways of building machine learning algorithm. I am going to become PhD in applied mathematics using this research.
I am going to use Twitter data to code python script to find out whether there are any predictable power of this kind of data to forecast stock movements.
Yes , the script is assumed to use Retweet data to reveal who was the authot of post - real people or bots. "
And my application was rejected. Who successfully solved this question ? What should I write to get applied ?
Thanks for your query. I would suggest you not elaborate as much for your API access application. Also, another thing you can perhaps do is try the same with another newer account.
If this does not work out. You can also look for sources for tweet data online. Do get back if you need more help.
Probably I can have another reason for getting Twitter API (besides analyzing sentiment, this reason does not work for approving as I see). What can it be ?
You can select the primary reason as academic and student.
You can share the details of the applied maths and PhD which you are pursuing And add the key reason as to complete a project on the impact of tweets on financial markets.
You can specify as analyzing the sentiment around tweet and impact on financial markets.
Specify other options as No as you are not going to tweet or retweet using it or perform anything objectionale action with it or trying to find or analyze twitter user.
Avoid writing that you will analyze it to find the real identity of the person. That is a strong reason for rejection.
In the course, it just gives a probability of the bot. It doesn't perform any analysis on user personal data or tries to find the identity.
