I'm interested in the Python libraries mentioned in the YouTube video "Download Historical Stock Data using Python | Interactive Brokers | Quantra Free Course ". Apparently I have to sign up for the free course to get them. What is the commitment in time? How long would the course take to complete, if I completed it? Can I get to the point where the libraries are working for me, and then abandon the course?
Hi Andy,
The course mentioned is Automated Trading with IBridgePy using Interactive Brokers Platform.
The time commitment for the course is ~ 3.5 hours.
Yes, you can get working around the basics of those libraries.
It is up to you if you want to complete the course or not, but completing the course would enable you to get a certificate, as well as cement your understanding of the course content.
Hope this helps!
Thank you, 3ยท5 hours is not bad. However the certificate reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon. How is it I can go to the store room and forget what I went for, yet I can remember a cartoon from 27 years ago? I think I will try to use IB functions directly, but if I can't get them to work, I will sign up for the course and use the IBridgePy wrapper.
