Sebi mulls regulatory framework for algo trading by retail investors

This is not a technical question on algo trading but rather a regulatory one

I read an article today

I read that such a proposal was already discussed and its coming up now again.

What could be the posisble impacts for a retail trader working privately on an algo strategy ? (Like many quants on this platform)

Institutions wil have their way around, but is there a possibility that retail algos will be blocked by the broker ?

Looks like SEBI is talking about algos provided by third party vendors (which may be advisory in nature)

However at the broker end , there is no way to differentiate whether algo request comes by a retail individual or third party

Its bit  confusing

Hi Prasanna,

It is an interesting proposal and looking forward to the framework but it shouldn't be a cause of concern as of now.
