I currently hold a trading account with IB where I'm looking to test out multiple strategies.
In order to analyze the performance of each strategy independently, I was looking to create new accounts on IB under my name. Basically each account runs one strategy. Reports etc are generated per account - this is what is suggested on forums for folks looking to achieve the same outcome. However, seems like this feature is not available to resident Indians.
Anyone aware of any other method to bucket/compartmentalize positions on IB? Or maybe another broker which provides this feature?
Unfortunately, the majority of brokers in India don't allow opening multiple accounts under the same name. Most of the brokers I know don't provide the facility you are seeking. So a better approach is to generate your own trading logs and maintain separate trading journals, which you can cross-verify with the reports that you get from IB or any other broker. If you are planning to execute multiple strategies in an automated manner, I would suggest you to create logs of everything that you can log. In my personal experience, this is super useful when tallying reports (contract notes, margin reports, etc) provided by the broker.
Thanks for the response, Jay.
